Saturday Indeed

With Platte being canceled my people had free Saturday on their hands, some choose to ride their road bikes, some chose to ride dirt in St. Joseph. I opted for waffles and gravel, Megan and I usually don’t see each other on Saturdays, either racing or Megan’s coaching/teaching obligations put us on different schedules. Knowing that Saturday morning was free and being inspired by Daily Grub’s  waffles from last Sunday meal. Well making waffles is what we did 1/2 and 1/2  of all purpose  flour and buckwheat flour made for some good waffles and good company. The tube was turned to Giro  and I was dreaming of frites with mayo yum.

JP got to my house around 11:00 am for some Loess Hill goodness.   Just like rest of  the area the winter has not been kind to the gravel roads in Mills county. New rock  and minimal farming equipment use made the first 10 miles a bit bumpy. Eventually we go passed the new gravel and road some  better groomed gravel.   The hills are great you can see a lot of interesting things while roaming around.

barn

Old school Barn, I believe that was made of horses to haul in the load to be stored.

Yes that’s winery I don’t know about the wine. Let’s hope it a bit better when their website

sweet sign

That is a sweet sing and yes when you biking it’s easy to have zip-a-doo-dee-dah day

We came back to Omaha via 375 toll bridge. Now I don’t know who Steve exon  is, nor do I live in Bellevue but any leader who gives you ice cream must be paid attention too. So yeah thank you Steve exon, I don’t know what your platform is and you do look a bit creepy but free ice cream is always a hit.  Good riding if you interested in gravel riding let me know. That’s what  I will be going for next 3 weeks.

P.s.  the bike is now dk ready. The kenda komando tires and slime tubes made it on to the bike last night.
