Halloween day I rode out my bike to an event put on by Mike D and his lovely wife, the ride was pretty nice, a bit chilly, but nothing to write home about. It was a scavenger hunt of sorts which involved finding some ribbons and getting artifacts from various west Omaha establishments and some walking in water if you JC I guess it would be on water, or if you like me begging some dude to get a ribbon for me
The cast included good juxtapose of people; adventure racers, fixies, commuters and adventures races. Couple of things I did noticed is I really do not know where stuff is in West Omaha, I don’t know where the bike trails are in that part of the city. My biggest mistake/failure was the fact I lost my map/directions half way through the event this caused me to not find some places it did cost me some time as I spend about 5 minutes looking for that piece of paper. I did manage a pint of IPA from the upstream as well as pint of some coffee stout from Lazlo’s all and all it was good time, I even won some shwagg. I would like to thank Chris G for giving me a ride home I had family obligation and wasn’t going to make it home in time otherwise. Gravel grinders and cranksgiving are right around the corner.
You talked a dude into getting in the lake for you? Foul!
Glad you came out. See you at Cranksgiving.
I’m still trying to get the smell of lake water out of my shoes.
I wonder if Douglas used hip waders to get the stake out there.
The objective was to get the ribbon not to get wet
