I rode home yesterday afternoon wearing my regular office clothes. I donned the helmet and gloves, but other than that, just looked like a regular guy on a bike.
I rode at slow enough pace so as to not sweat or change clothes, since I needed to drive back into downtown with my daughter and then go back to work for a bit.
When the weather is nice, and the cycling infrastructure is attractive, then ordinary people will ride like that… for fun and for transportation.
