Black Gold Kasher Leaves

NPR and PBS do not get enough credit in today’s media crazed world. I have always been listening/watching both of them for long period of time. This is the only way to get information which is not U.S. Centric, in form of BBC broadcast as well as many other informative programming. If you have HDTV, you can receive up to 5 free over the air programming, 3 for nebtv and 2 from Iowa public television. This weekend I watched a documentary and in depth investigative series. The documentary was part of Independent Lens series, called Black Gold. Witch is a documentary about fair trade coffee set in background of Ethiopian coffee farmers. The new investigating series is called America at Crossroads, focusing on geo-political events surrounding Arab Muslims their relationship to U.S. Informative and objective, something you don’t see that often. This is currently running on you local PBS Station.
In other news, according to Pitchfork, Tim Kasher is leaving Omaha for L.A. This is a quite a surprise as you could see Tim A bit drunk playing at Waiting Room two weeks ago. Kasher talks about new album screen play and life in general. The new album drops on September 11, 2007.
